The Laboratory of Macromolecules and Transport Phenomena belongs to the Soft Matter research group of the Coimbra Chemistry Centre (CQC) and is located at the Department of Chemistry of Coimbra University.
Artur J. M. Valente is the scientific coordinator of the Laboratory of Macromolecules and Transport Phenomena at the University of Coimbra (UC).
The Macromolecules and Transport Phenomena Laboratory has extensive experience in fundamental and applied research in the field of the mass transport properties, of electrolytes and non-electrolytes, of low and high molecular weight compounds, and in supercritical fluids, supramolecular chemistry and on the development of new soft materials for drug delivery and environmental remediation.
The laboratories possess a Taylor technique apparatus for measuring multicomponent transport of solutions by diffusion, and essential equipment to perform other diffusion measurements as well as to develop synthesis, characterization, and application of novel soft materials in drug delivery and environmental remediation.
